Smoking and other tobacco (gutkha, khaini etc:) use are associated with about 75 percent of oral cancer cases. Mouth and throat cancer is the sixth most common malignancy reported worldwide with the Indian sub-continent accounting for one-third of the world burden. Changing lifestyle or eating habits and avoiding things known to cause cancer are the best known ways to prevent cancer.
